ABOUT US
Our Heritage
Doaba Publications is an independent Indian publishing house built on a legacy of bookselling, publishing, and knowledge dissemination that traces its roots back to 1924 in Lahore, when the founding family first entered the world of books and literary culture.
What began as a modest bookselling and publishing venture grew into a respected presence in the subcontinent’s literary and educational landscape. After the Partition of India in 1947, the family rebuilt its publishing activities in Delhi, eventually establishing a strong foothold in the historic publishing hub of Nai Sarak and Daryaganj, an area widely regarded as the heart of India’s book trade.
For generations, our family has remained dedicated to a simple but powerful idea:
books shape minds, preserve knowledge, and carry culture across time.
Today, Doaba Publications continues that legacy with renewed energy, combining the values of traditional publishing with the possibilities of modern technology and global distribution.
Our Identity
Doaba Publications is more than a publishing company; it is part of a long-standing literary tradition in India’s book industry.
Our organization brings together expertise in:
• Editorial development
• Book production and design
• Print management and quality control
• National distribution
• International rights partnerships
• Educational publishing
Through our integrated publishing and distribution network, we ensure that every book we produce reaches the readers who need it most — students, teachers, researchers, libraries, and general readers.
We believe publishing is not merely a commercial activity. It is a cultural responsibility.
Every book we publish contributes to the larger mission of preserving knowledge and expanding access to learning.
Our Publishing Philosophy
At Doaba Publications, our philosophy is guided by three core principles:
1. Knowledge Should Be Accessible
Books should not be inaccessible or unaffordable. Our aim is to produce high-quality yet reasonably priced editions that reach the widest possible audience.
2. Literature Must Endure
Many important literary works go out of print over time. We work to ensure that important classical and intellectual works remain available to new generations of readers.
3. Education Drives Progress
Education is the foundation of social and intellectual development. A significant part of our publishing program focuses on educational, academic, and reference titles designed to support students and institutions.
